Preparing for your Maternity photoshoot
We try and make your maternity photoshoot a wonderful stress free experience. To prepare for your session do have a think about the outfits you’ll bring with you and the type of images you’d like us to create.
Arriving at the Studio
Please try and arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time so that we do not overrun and have enough time to get the best pictures we can. It’ll also give you plenty of time to relax and feel comfortable before the fun starts! When you arrive at the studio you’ll be able to see samples of some of our work and amazing wall art in The Photo Cafe. This is also the chance for us to discuss what type of pictures you’d like us to create. Arrive early enough and they’ll certainly be time for a delicious hot chocolate or flat white before your session.
Your studio maternity photoshoot
We allow an hour for each session so there’s plenty of time for varies poses and looks during the shoot. In terms of clothing, it is best to bring a couple of changes of outfit for you. We have a variety of backgrounds to compliment your outfits.
After your maternity photoshoot
At the end of your photo session we will arrange a convenient time for you to return for your personal viewing appointment where you will then get to view your edited photos. Any additional family members are always welcome too.
Questions you might have about your maternity shoot
Can I take my own pictures or video in the studio?
I’m afraid not. Photography and videography is not permitted in the studio.
When is the best time to have a maternity shoot?
The ideal town to have your maternity shoot is between 32 and 36 weeks.
What happens if I am over 36 weeks?
We do a lot of late maternity sessions. Whilst we don’t recommend leaving it to the last minute be reassured that Croydon maternity unit is less than a mile away.
Can my partner be in the photos?
We actively encourage partners to get involved in the photos. Make sure they are dressed for the occasion!
Can my other children/pets/random family members be in the photos?
Yes of course. The more the merrier.
Who should I bring with me?
That entirely depends on who you’d like to have pictures of! Our studio can comfortably accommodate at least 10 adults. Of course not everyone needs to be in the photos. Feel free to bring a friend or family member along for moral support.
Do you have a changing room?
Yes the studio has a changing room with a Hollywood style makeup mirror and a full length mirror.
Do you offer hair and makeup?
We don’t but we do have a make up mirror if needed.
Do you Photoshop the images?
All our images a beautifully and subtly edited, removing any stretch marks or blemishes. We try not to go over the top with editing giving you amazing but natural looking finished images.
Do you have maternity outfits?
We have a small selection of wraps and a couple of simple dresses. We highly recommend you bring your own outfits to match the style of images you want us to create.
